Why is the image in a plane mirror laterally inverted but not upside down?
Light rays reflect such that left and right are reversed in the image, creating lateral inversion. However, the front-to-back inversion appears as left-right reversal when we perceive the image. Up and down remain the same because those directions are perpendicular to the lateral inversion.
Can a concave mirror form a real image below its focal length?
