Apt Mixtures Alligation in Aptitude
Alligation Rule: Used to find the ratio in which two ingredients must be mixed to get a mixture at a desired price or concentration.
Rule: (Dearer - Mean) : (Mean - Cheaper) = Quantity of Cheaper : Quantity of Dearer.
Replacement formula: If from a vessel containing x litres of liquid, y litres are replaced with water repeatedly n times: Final concentration = x × (1 - y/x)^n.
Mixing two solutions: If a% solution and b% solution are mixed in ratio m:n, resulting concentration = (am + bn)/(m+n).
