A fraction p/q has numerator p and denominator q. A proper fraction has p < q. An improper fraction has p ≥ q. A mixed fraction is like 2½.

To compare fractions: make denominators equal (cross multiply). 3/4 vs 2/3: 3×3=9, 4×2=8, so 3/4 > 2/3.

To convert decimal to fraction: 0.75 = 75/100 = 3/4. Recurring decimals: 0.333... = 1/3, 0.666... = 2/3.
