Apt Data Sufficiency in Aptitude
Data Sufficiency (DS) tests whether given statements provide ENOUGH information to answer a question — you do NOT need to solve it.
Standard answer choices: (A) Statement 1 alone sufficient. (B) Statement 2 alone sufficient. (C) Both together sufficient. (D) Each alone sufficient. (E) Neither sufficient.
Process: For each statement, try to get a UNIQUE answer. If you get one unique value → sufficient. If you get multiple or no answer → insufficient.
Key insight: You are not solving the problem, just checking if a unique solution EXISTS.
Watch out for: knowing a variable is positive/negative, integer constraints, and proportional unknowns (e.g., ratio problems).
