Apt Averages in Aptitude

Average = Sum of observations / Number of observations.

Weighted Average = (w1×x1 + w2×x2 + ...) / (w1 + w2 + ...) — used when values have different importance/frequency.

If average of n numbers is A, and one number x is replaced by y, new average = A + (y-x)/n.

Average speed formula: When equal distances are covered at speeds u and v, average speed = 2uv/(u+v) (NOT (u+v)/2).
