🧠 Remember it

The Human Heart & Blood Flow

Four chambers, two sides. Right side carries "blue" deoxygenated blood, left side carries "red" oxygenated blood — "Left is Loaded with oxygen." Blood passes through the heart twice = double circulation.

🌏 In real life

When you sprint for a bus in the heat, your heart pounds because your muscles are demanding more oxygen — the left side pumps oxygen-rich blood out faster to keep up.

📝 Quick notes

  • 4 chambers: right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium, left ventricle.
  • Right side handles deoxygenated blood; left side handles oxygenated blood.
  • Deoxygenated path: body → right atrium → right ventricle → lungs (via pulmonary artery).
  • Oxygenated path: lungs → left atrium → left ventricle → whole body (via aorta).

🎯 Test yourself

Which chamber has the thickest muscular wall, and why?

The left ventricle — it must pump oxygenated blood to the whole body against high pressure.
