Syllab.in ("Syllab", "we", "us") is a free learning platform for students in India. We respect your privacy and keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
- Account details (optional): if you sign in, your name, email and class/board — to save your progress.
- Learning activity: quizzes, practice, study sessions and progress, so we can show your dashboard.
- On-device storage: your browser's local storage (cached answers, preferences) — this stays on your device.
- Basic analytics: anonymised usage data to improve the product. We do not sell your data.
2. How we use it
To provide and improve learning features, save your progress, personalise content to your class/board, and keep the service secure. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not show third-party behavioural ads to children.
3. Children's privacy
Syllab is used by school students, including those under 18. We collect only what is necessary for learning. In line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, we expect a parent or guardian to provide consent for a child's account. Parents can request access to or deletion of a child's data by contacting us.
4. Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Syllab — Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting) and AI APIs that generate explanations. They process data only to provide their service, under their own security and privacy terms.
5. Data security & retention
We use reasonable technical safeguards (encrypted connections, access rules) to protect data. We keep account and progress data only while your account is active, or as required by law.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent, at any time. To do so, email us and we'll act on your request promptly.
7. Changes & contact
We may update this policy and will revise the date above. Questions or requests? Email narasatish966@gmail.com.
