How to Prepare for NEET
- Build a strong foundation in Biology — it carries 50% of the paper and is highly scoring. Memorize structures (anatomy), processes (photosynthesis), and lifecycle patterns (lifecycle of Plasmodium).
- Make flashcards for Biology: one-liners for definitions, diagrams for structures, and mnemonics for long lists (e.g., ABCDE for kingdom classification). Review them daily.
- Solve previous 10 years' NEET papers to understand the question pattern. You'll notice that 30% of questions are repeated or similar to past years.
- Study from NCERT + good reference books (like MTG or Marvel Biology). Do NOT skip NCERT — ~95% of NEET comes from NCERT biology.
NEET Result, Cutoff & Counselling
How to check the result: Once the NEET result is declared, log in to the official conducting body's website with your application number and password / date of birth, then download your scorecard or rank card.
Understanding the cutoff: The NEET cutoff is the minimum rank or score needed to get a seat. It changes every year with the number of candidates, the paper's difficulty and the seats available, and it differs by category (General / OBC / SC / ST / EWS) and quota — so always check the latest official cutoff.
Counselling & admission: Admission is through MCC (mcc.nic.in) for the 15% All-India Quota, plus your state counselling authority for state-quota seats. You register, fill your college and branch choices by rank, and report for document verification and seat confirmation.

Can I get admission to a medical college with a NEET score of 500?

What is the age limit for NEET?
