Vm Division in Vedic Maths

Fast division often relies on decomposition and approximation. For simple divisors (2, 5, 10, etc.), shortcuts abound: dividing by 5 is multiplying by 2 and dividing by 10. For 630 ÷ 5: multiply by 2 to get 1260, then divide by 10 → 126.

For division by larger numbers, the Vedic "flag" method or long-division variants can speed up the process by pre-computing multiples or using estimation. More importantly, understanding divisibility rules (next topic) lets you eliminate impossibilities and check answers.

In competitive exams, you rarely need exact long division; instead, estimate the quotient and verify using multiplication or modular arithmetic. These techniques build that confidence.
