In group discussions, speak early (first 20 seconds) with a strong opening: "I think the core issue is X..." Then listen more than you talk. When you speak again, build on what others said: "Akash raised a great point. I'd add that we should also consider..." This shows you're thinking, not waiting your turn.
Expressing disagreement politely is essential. Never say "You're wrong." Instead: "That's a valid point. At the same time, I think we should consider..." or "I respectfully disagree because..." or "That's interesting, but what if we look at it another way?" These phrases let people save face while you make your point clear.
Structure your opinion: (1) State your stance. (2) Give 1-2 reasons or evidence. (3) Acknowledge the other side. (4) Reinforce your point. Example: "I believe remote work should be offered. First, studies show 25% higher productivity. Second, employees save commute time. I understand some roles need in-office presence, but a hybrid model could balance both." This sounds reasoned and confident.
