Robotics Led Blink in Robotics

An LED (Light Emitting Diode) emits light when current flows through it. LEDs are directional: the longer leg (anode, +) connects to power, the shorter leg (cathode, −) connects to ground.

Always use a current-limiting resistor (220Ω–470Ω) in series with the LED to prevent burnout. The resistor reduces current to safe levels.

Blinking is a fundamental technique: digital output HIGH (5V) turns LED on, LOW (0V) turns it off. Repeated toggling creates a blink effect.

Robotics Led Blink — Syntax

// LED control
const int LED_PIN = 13;

pinMode(LED_PIN, OUTPUT);

digitalWrite(LED_PIN, HIGH);   // Turn on
digitalWrite(LED_PIN, LOW);    // Turn off
