Gd Design Checklist in Graphic Design
CRAP (Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, Proximity) is a legendary framework for evaluating design quality. Contrast makes your design visually interesting and guides the eye to what matters (big text vs. small, bold vs. light, hot color vs. cool). Repetition builds cohesion: if your headings are all the same font and color, the design feels intentional and organized. Alignment means nothing is randomly placed; every element snaps to an invisible grid or line. Proximity means related elements are grouped close together; unrelated elements are separated. Master these four principles and you can design anything. Many amateur designs fail on alignment or proximity — elements feel scattered. Professional designs nail all four.
Exporting is the final step that translates digital into physical or published. The wrong export settings destroy all your hard work: low resolution, wrong color mode, compressed quality, oversized file. PNG is raster (pixels) and ideal for screen; PDF is vector-friendly and ideal for print. For screen: 72 DPI, RGB color, 1–2 MB max (for fast loading). For print: 300 DPI, CMYK color, any size (resolution matters more than file size). Canva handles most of this, but you must choose the right format when exporting.
