Git Submodules in Git & GitHub
Submodules let you include another Git repository inside your project. Use when you depend on an external library or shared code. The submodule stays linked to its original repository, so you get updates.
Example: your main project depends on a UI library stored in a separate repo. Add the library as a submodule, and you can pull updates from the library repo without copying code.
Priya's project uses a shared authentication library in another repo. Instead of copying code, she adds it as a submodule and stays in sync with updates.
Git Submodules — Syntax
git submodule add <repo-url> <path> # Add submodule git clone --recurse-submodules <repo-url> # Clone with submodules git submodule update --remote # Update submodule to latest
