A chart turns numbers into a picture people grasp instantly. Match the chart to the message: a column/bar chart compares categories, a line chart shows a trend over time, a pie chart shows parts of a whole (use sparingly, only a few slices). Select your data including headers → Insert → choose the chart type.
Good charts are clean: a clear title, labelled axes, no 3-D effects or clutter, and sorted bars so the reader sees the ranking. The goal is that someone understands the point in three seconds without you explaining it.
