Cyber Https Ssl in Cyber Security

HTTPS (HTTP Secure) encrypts data in transit between your browser and a website using SSL/TLS protocols. Every modern website should use HTTPS to protect sensitive information like passwords and credit cards.

SSL/TLS uses asymmetric encryption to establish a secure connection and then switches to symmetric encryption for performance. Websites prove their identity through digital certificates issued by trusted Certificate Authorities.

A man-in-the-middle attack intercepts unencrypted HTTP traffic. HTTPS prevents this by encrypting the connection. The lock icon in your browser indicates an active HTTPS connection.

Modern TLS 1.3 is faster and more secure than older versions. Certificates must be valid (not expired) and match the domain name for browsers to trust the connection.
