Cyber 2fa in Cyber Security
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) requires two different forms of proof to verify your identity: something you know (password) and something you have (phone) or something you are (fingerprint).
Even if a hacker steals your password, they cannot access your account without the second factor, making 2FA significantly more secure than passwords alone.
Common 2FA methods include SMS codes, authenticator apps (Google Authenticator, Authy), biometrics, and hardware security keys. Authenticator apps and security keys are more secure than SMS.
2FA adds an extra step to login but provides exponentially better security. Most major services now require or recommend enabling 2FA for account protection.
