Cyber safety means protecting yourself online, just like physical safety protects you in the real world. The internet is a wonderful tool for learning and having fun, but it also has risks. Learning cyber safety now will protect you throughout your life.
Password safety is crucial. Never share your passwords with anyone—not friends, not teachers, not even parents. Use strong passwords that mix letters, numbers, and symbols. Change passwords regularly. A strong password is like a strong lock on your door.
Be careful what you share online. Personal information like your home address, phone number, school name, and birthday should NEVER be posted publicly on the internet. Cybercriminals can use this information to harm you or your family.
Don't talk to strangers online. People online might not be who they claim to be. Never agree to meet someone you met online, and always tell a parent if someone makes you uncomfortable or asks you to keep secrets.
Cyberbullying is when people are mean, rude, or hurtful to you online. If you face cyberbullying, don't respond, don't retaliate, save the messages as evidence, and tell a trusted adult immediately. Cyberbullying is serious and illegal in India.
