Types Of Agents in AI Agents
There are five main types of AI agents, ranging from simple to complex. Simple reflex agents respond immediately to stimuli with predefined rules. Model-based reflex agents maintain an internal model of the world. Goal-based agents work backwards from desired outcomes. Utility-based agents optimize for best outcomes. Learning agents improve through experience.
A simple reflex agent in an e-commerce site: "If user browses electronics, recommend electronics." A learning agent: "If user previously bought electronics, predict and recommend similar items with higher confidence."
In Indian schools, a simple reflex tutor says "Try again" when a student answers wrong. A learning agent analyzes why the student struggles, adjusts teaching style, and predicts which topics will challenge them next.
